About Dr. Meagan W. Shepherd
Dr. Meagan W. Shepherd is a board-certified allergist/immunologist and Diplomat of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.
A native of the Tri-State area, Dr. Shepherd completed her undergraduate studies in Molecular Biology and her Medical Degree at Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. She went on to complete a dual residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, followed by fellowship training in Adult and Pediatric Allergy & Immunology at The Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Before founding Shepherd Allergy, Dr. Shepherd served as an Associate Professor at Marshall University School of Medicine, where she earned tenure and helped lead both the Internal Medicine–Pediatrics and Pediatrics residency programs. During her tenure, she participated in clinical and industry research, served as an investigator on numerous clinical trials, and authored multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. She also holds several patents for innovations in allergy skin-testing technology.
Dr. Shepherd previously served for 10 years on the West Virginia Newborn Screening Advisory Committee as the Primary Consultant for Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID) screening, providing clinical expertise and guidance for early detection efforts across the state. On a national level, she is a member of the Board of Regents for the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (ACAAI) and a Fellow of both the ACAAI and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI).
In her clinical practice, Dr. Shepherd offers a full spectrum of evidence-based allergy treatments, including ILIT™, (Intralymphatic Immunotherapy), OMIT, SLIT, and SCIT, helping patients achieve meaningful, lasting relief. She values practical, personalized care that improves not only her patients’ health but also their overall quality of life. Her dedication to excellence has been recognized through multiple honors, including the Castle Connolly Top Doctor award.
Beyond the clinic, Dr. Shepherd is the founder of The Allergy Aesthetic™, a lifestyle brand and digital platform that blends her medical expertise with her passion for calm, allergy-conscious living. Dr. Shepherd is married to a fellow physician and is a proud mom of three boys and two beloved pets. When she’s not in the office, she enjoys home decorating, entertaining friends, and spending quiet moments with her family.
