Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome (FPIES) is a type of non-IgE mediated, gastrointestinal food allergy that affects mostly infants and young children. FPIES reactions are triggered by eating a particular food, and the primary treatment is strict avoidance of the triggering food.
